"I chose government documentation as my community leadership project because there are many children in my community who don’t attend school as they don't have the necessary identity documents and government documents needed to enroll in school. When I started working on this project, first I organized a 40-family survey in my community, where I learned many children don’t have Aadhar cards (identity cards), a bank passbook, and so on. Many children face difficulties accessing government (welfare) schemes due to not having government documents. That’s why I started working on this, hoping to help them enroll in school and access benefits from the government schemes. I also learned and taught them during my Community Leadership Project that if any child or anyone needs to make government documents, then that person must have the correct and necessary parental documents. One advice I would give everyone is that before you make any documents, you must know the right information: How they're made and how you can use them."Dibya, a #ShadhikaScholar from our partner organization Jabala spoke about her 2022 Community Leadership Project (CLP)- a project to bring awareness and change to pressing issues in their communities. The Community Leadership Projects help our scholars challenge traditional gender norms, showcasing the transformative power of educating a girl. Scholars choose topics close to their hearts, addressing personal challenges in their communities. In #16DaysOfActivism, honor #ShadhikaScholars and participants leading with resilience. This #ColoradoGivesDay, your support shapes a brighter future for young women in India. 【 FATE | Study Visit 】Day 1 ~ Empowerment. How can we address gender-based discrimination (GBD) using Non-Formal Learning and Art? 🎨 How can we support ourselves and fellow youth and youth workers on the topic?🌈 Last Tuesday, participants of the FATE Study Visit in Poland reunited, this time in Athens, to explore these questions together!✨ FATE - short for From Art to Empowerment - is a Small-Scale Partnership that aims to empower both youth and youth workers by developing a non-formal education methodology that focuses on supporting mental wellbeing and inclusion of gender minorities.💜 On our first day in Athens, we took the time to set the foundation with a safe and welcoming environment where we can share experiences ideas, and support each other. We dived into our own experiences with discrimination regarding gender, and shared real-life stories from our work.🤔 How can we tackle them together? Follow our daily diaries to find out!🇪🇺 The project is co-financed by the European Commission through the Erasmus+ program, allowing us to join forces with our partner organisations to create an inclusive and creative environment: @activerainbow 🇱🇻 | Fundacja Po Prostu Da Się 🇵🇱 | Roes Cooperativa 🇬🇷#WeAreRoes #RoesCoop #WhatsYourStream #SocialEntreprise #NonFormalEducation #exchangeofgoodpractices #ErasmusPlus #ErasmusKA2 #StudyVisit #projectdiary #FATEKA2

✨This #GivingTuesday, join us in advancing human rights education! At ICAAD, we’re empowering activists and advocates worldwide with practical skills across media, arts, law, data, and more to drive systemic change. Through our trainings and workshops, we provide partners with tools and resources to tackle some of the world’s most pressing human rights issues – from the climate crisis to gender inequality. We have had a massive year of impact. It’s wild to look back at what we’ve accomplished in 2023 alone – and honestly, that’s only a glimpse of our impact because everything we do connects human rights education and capacity building. While we might have a discrete project with a partner or coalition, the way we extend our knowledge to ensure it grows social movements on the frontlines leads to impacts we often never see. Together, let's champion human rights and create a lasting impact. Join us as we work towards a more equitable future: https://lnkd.in/dTEzrfrDMatching starts tomorrow - or 6pm tonight for friends in New Zealand!#HumanRightsEducation #EmpowerChange #GiveForGood

Early childhood development (ECD) carries the utmost importance for each child to develop to their unique potential. Evidence shows that harmful norms, values, and behaviors; gender discriminatory practices (conscious or unconscious) do hinder their development. We need to challenge and transform what harms our children and consequently our societies. We have a lot of work to do to support parents/caregivers and professionals to promote positive gender socialization (PGS) through gender transformative practices. It is obvious: we need to start EARLY!KINDER project focused on these issues successfully and now the book is published! https://kinder.ces.uc.pt/In the second chapter, I focused on PGS and gender transformative approaches in parenting and education, especially during the early years; including compact recommendations for parents/caregivers and teachers. #genderequality #ECD #earlychildhoodeducation #earlychildhooddevelopment #positivegendersocialisation #gendertransformativeapproaches

On Children's Day, the Society for Peace Studies and Practice (SPSP), Oyo State Chapter had the opportunity to join the "SHE 4 PEACE" Project launching organized by Kazeem Olubunmi IsolaGbenla Foundation & WANEP-NIGERIA (Oyo State Chapter) in conjunction with Ibadan Development Centre. We spoke through our representative on the topic "Girls Right and Strategies to protect them". The key words discussed were....1. Legal Protection2. Education and Empowerment3. Health and Well-being. 4. Address Child Marriage 5. Safe Spaces and Support6. Gender Equality and Empowerment7. Media and Technology8. Collaboration and Partnerships: Students Awareness was raised and training were given to students of all schools present. We emphasized that Girls' rights are fundamental human rights that must be protected and upheld to ensure their well-being, empowerment, and equality. We reiterate how crucial it is to listen to girls' voices, involve them in decision-making processes, and create platforms for their active participation in shaping their own lives and futures. In conclusion, we informed them that the world today won't say they are young girls and that they should be waited for. its a lie!!! They have to stand up for what they want. No one would give it to them. They have to put in the work so that they can say yes we did it with Gods help and hard work. They are no longer the weaker vessel. The odds might not be in their favour but if they set their mind to it. The only way is Up.#ChildrenDay #GirlChildRights #opportunity #partnership #collaboration

Women and children are the most marginalized layer of the society in Afghanistan. Thus, education plays a crucial role in empowering women & children in lower-income countries. It helps overcome gender disparities by creating equal opportunities and challenging traditional gender roles. Educated women are more likely to participate in the workforce, earn higher incomes, make informed family planning decisions, and have healthier children. The empowerment of women through education strengthens the overall social fabric and leads to more inclusive and equitable societies. Disconsolately, it has been one and half year that women are restricted from all the fundemental rights comprising working and educational activities in Afghanistan.

Something to ponder during Women's History Month. These articles highlight the percent of women working in my disciplines -- education, healthcare, and the military. The question is whether the amount of women in leadership roles reflects the number of women in each industry's workforce.Women in healthcare - 77%Women in education - 75%Active duty women in our military - 18%https://lnkd.in/e2cPwEAMhttps://lnkd.in/eze8cjWV
