What Goes Well With Mango Salsa

This easy recipe goes well with: baked fish tacos, salmon tacos, shrimp tacos, blackened fish tacos, mahi mahi fish tacos, red snapper, sea bass, and blackened grouper. However, I would not just save this salsa for your fish taco recipe, it is also delicious with tortilla chips or mixed into sour cream for an amazing dip! Also a must try with queso fresco, or even on baked chicken or grilled steak! It can be the the perfect pair to a red cabbage slaw, and even served as a side dish.

For best results I would not chop the ingredients into large chunks. I usually like to keep them pretty small, that way there is more of a flavor explosion with every bite! I have also found that one of the best things to do is to place it in an airtight container and not have it until the next day, helps to bring out those bold flavors.

This Easy Mango Salsa Recipe can be fermented as well! Just ferment it on the counter for about 2 to 3 days. You can follow my instructions on my How To Make Easy Fermented Pico De Gallo Salsa post. This will give you a step-by-step guide on how to do this safely.

Substitutes for Fresh Mango Salsa

Although, I must plead with the future chef of this salsa recipe to try this recipe as-is first before any alterations, because it is that good. However, I completely understand that sometimes substitutes do need to be made. Here are some ideas to help in your choices:

  • Red bell pepper or a green bell pepper can be substituted for jalapenos.
  • You can always experiment and add more spice to your salsa by adding: garlic powder, onion powder, or chili powder.
  • Fresh limes can be substituted for lemons. If there are still some left over from the margaritas! There’s that word again! I personally prefer the taste of lemons in this recipe over limes.
  • If you like it a little sweeter you can always add in a little brown sugar.
