How to complete Irina’s questline in Elden Ring (2024)

Irina is one of the first NPCs you’ll meet in Elden Ring a blindfolded girl who has escaped a fierce rebellion at her home castle. She’ll ask for some assistance in convincing her father to leave his duties — which will take your through Castle Morne and a battle with Leonine Misbegotten.

Elden Ring Irina quest steps

Here’s an overview of what to do in Irina’s quest. In summary, it mostly takes place across one region of the game (the Weeping Peninsula), and a significant chunk within the Castle Morne fortress in particular:

  1. Meet Irina just past the Bridge of Sacrifice in Weeping Peninsula
  2. Accept the letter
  3. Deliver the letter to Edgar in Castle Morne
  4. Defeat Leonine Misbegotten
  5. Return to Edgar
  6. Return to Irina
  7. Find the Revenger’s Shack

Find Irina in The Weeping Peninsula

Irina can be found in a region called the Weeping Peninsula, located south of Limgrave. You’ll need to cross the Bridge of Sacrifice in order to reach her, but be mindful that there’s a ballista stationed on this bridge — you’ll likely have to dodge some arrows to access the other side.

Once you’ve crossed the bridge, you’ll be able to spot Irina sitting on the left-hand side of the road, next to a small stone wall. Talking with Irina reveals that the servants of Castle Morne have rebelled, and have killed all her companions. Although Irina managed to escape, her father has chosen to remain behind — claiming it’s his duty to do so as commander.

If you continue talking to Irina, she will express concern for her father’s safety and ask you to deliver him a letter. Accept this, and prepare yourself for an eventful journey through the Weeping Peninsula.

Deliver the letter to Irina’s father, Edgar

Follow the road south and you’ll spot a large castle in the distance. This is Castle Morne, and you’ll need to venture inside to deliver Irina’s letter. Be careful when approaching the castle, as there’s a stone golem waiting outside that will shoot giant arrows at you.

Once you’ve entered the castle, you’ll need to make your way onto the ramparts to find Irina’s father. Walk through the central courtyard, sneak past the Mad Pumpkin Head enemy, then venture down the alleyway behind to find a small ladder. At the top you’ll find lots of angry Misbegotten servants, but once you’ve dealt with these, you can continue across the walkway and towards the castle’s Eastern tower.

On the top of this tower you’ll find Irina’s father, Edgar, who will give you a sacrificial twig to apologise for the sorry state of his fortress. Deliver the letter to him, and he’ll explain that he cannot leave the castle, as he is sworn to protect the Sword of Morne. Hint hint, nudge nudge — it’s up to you to find that sword.

Defeat Leonine Misbegotten

To retrieve the Sword of Morne, you’ll need to beat a lion-like creature called Leonine Misbegotten. You can find this creature at the back of Castle Morne, on the beaches at the southernmost point of the Weeping Peninsula. Make sure to activate the Beside the Rampart Gaol site of grace so you have a nearby spawn point — this can be found tucked around the corner of the gaol building at the bottom of the cliff.

With an aggressive fighting style and hard-hitting sword, Leonine Misbegotten can be a tricky enemy to deal with. Head over to our Leonine Misbegotten guide for advice on how to beat this boss.

Once you’ve successfully defeated Leonine Misbegotten it will drop the Grafted Blade Greatsword as a reward. This is the legendary Sword of Morne (and yes, it does look like something out of A Game of Thrones). Retrieving it will progress Irina’s storyline.

Return to Edgar

Head back to Castle Morne’s eastern tower to find Edgar, who will still be sitting in the same spot. Once you talk to him, he will thank you for retrieving the sword from the hands of the Misbegotten, and explain that he is no longer bound by duty. He will then announce that he intends to live out the rest of his days with Irina.

Return to Irina

For the final part of this storyline, you will need to return to Irina near the Bridge of Sacrifice. Sadly, Edgar took too long to return to Irina, and her body can be found on the ground alongside a Misbegotten sword — indicating she was killed by one of the servants. Edgar laments that he chose duty over his daughter, and swears revenge upon the “wretches” who killed her.

This concludes the main part of Irina’s questline, but if you venture into Liurnia, you’ll find an epilogue for this unhappy tale.

Find the Revenger’s Shack

Once you’ve gained access to Liurnia, head to the western side (just north of the minor Erdtree) to find a location called the Revenger’s Shack. It’s a run-down building surrounded by trees and woodland.

At the Revenger’s Shack you’ll be invaded by a phantom called Edgar the Revenger, who will attack you with a halberd. Watch out for his spinning strikes attack, as this has a decent amount of range.

Killing Edgar will reward you with the Banished Knight’s Halberd (levelled to +8), five Raw Meat Dumplings, a Furlcalling Finger Remedy and a Shabriri Grape (which leads into the Hyetta questline). Make sure to check the shack behind him to collect further Raw Meat Dumplings.

Judging by the Shabriri Grape, the bodies surrounding the shack and a spirit who says the “poor fellow” has gone “perfectly mad”, it seems Edgar was driven into a frenzy by the loss of Irina. It’s a sad ending to an already-tragic tale — but given that FromSoftware NPC questlines often end this way, perhaps we shouldn’t be too surprised.
