No Doubt Reunites at Coachella for the First Time Since 2015 — with Special Guest Olivia Rodrigo! (2024)

There was No Doubt that this would be an unforgettable performance!

On Saturday, April 13, No Doubt took the stage for the first time since 2015 at Coachella in Indio, California, where they were joined by Olivia Rodrigo.

During a set list consisting of the band's signature tracks and a few deeper cuts, vocalist Gwen Stefani and her bandmates incorporated hits "It's My Life," "Just a Girl," and "Bathwater," the latter which featured some added vocals from Rodrigo, 21.

At the start of the band's performance of the 2000 single, Stefani, 54, screamed the name "Olivia Rodrigo" to the excited crowd, as the Grammy winner hit the stage in a white tank top reading "I [heart] ND."

The pair took turns with different lines on the song, and at the end of their back-and-forth, Stefani and Rodrigo gave each other an onstage hug before running off together.

After leaving the stage, Rodrigo could be seen in the Coachella crowd in a black leather jacket, standing beside pal Conan Gray, as she jumped up and down and excitedly cheered on Stefani and the No Doubt crew.

The set also featured a moving performance of "Don't Speak," and wrapped on Tragic Kingdomstandout "Spiderwebs," which ended with the entire band — including longtime touring musicians Gabrial McNair and Stephen Bradley — taking an emotional bow and group photo in front of the massive festival crowd.

During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in February, Stefani revealed she may have had to relearn the words to her band's songs ahead of their performance.

“I don’t remember them, no, not at all. I don’t! I think I’m going to have to learn probably like, eight or nine [songs]. One of the first songs I ever wrote was called ‘Different People;' we’re doing that,” Stefani said.

No Doubt — which features Stefani on vocals, Tom Dumont on guitar, Tony Kanal on bass and Adrian Young on the drums — last reunited in 2012 for the albumPush and Shove, their first in 11 years. They last performed live together in 2015.

“It’s crazy,” Stefani said of their reunion. “It’s gonna be amazing. I’m so excited. And I think what is gonna be hilarious is, I know what’s gonna happen, I’m gonna get onstage and look around and just start like, cracking up because it’s just gonna be like riding a bike. We’re gonna be like, ‘What are we doing? We’re in the future right now, we’re at Coachella.’ It’s gonna be bizarre.”

Stefani opened up to PEOPLE in Januaryabout the upcoming Coachella performance and revealed that agreeing to play the festival was an easy “yes.”

“It just happened so fast, and that’s my favorite kind of thing to happen. We haven’t really figured out the next steps of how we’re going to do this, but we’re just all so excited,” she said. “And I think really just watching the internet blow up [with] how excited that the fans are? It’s inspiring us.”

She continued: “It's just going to be cool. It's just going to be: get up there and do what we always do, which is play our music and try to connect and be so grateful that we got this amazing career that we never expected to have.”

Meanwhile, earlier this month, the "Hollaback Girl" singer reflected on her days in the band in an interview with NYLONPrint and said she felt stuck between being a good mother and a bandmate.

"I would be leaving my family. And if I didn't come home with a song, I'd be like, 'Oh my God, I'm such a loser — I didn't have dinner with my family, andI didn't write a song. I wasted an entire day of my life trying to be in No Doubt again."

She also said every choice felt like a sacrifice.

"I look at it now and I think, 'God, what was I doing trying to please everybody?' Because really, I should have just been with my family. But we did it, and there are some good songs," she told the outlet, trailing off. "Don't remind me. I don't want to talk about it."
