    Tech Impact CXWorks Cohort 24 Students along with some members of ITWorks, had a very informative Thursday afternoon session with Goodwill Industries International hosted by Sheree Kelly, Gawaan Hureskin and the rest of their resource team.The Career Center at the Las Vegas Boulevard Mall Goodwill Store was the site for students to absorb some knowledge and tips about the resume application/interview process, as well as an introduction to resources that Goodwill has to offer for those needing training and career opportunities.Thank You Goodwill Industries for your generosity and making this session such a valuable experience for our CXWorks Cohort 24 and ITWorks Students.

    Today, a local visit to the City of Las Vegas Cox Innovation Center, had Tech Impact CXWorks Cohort 24 Students meeting with Marcus Sherfield and his team to practice their interviews with the assistance of applications such as Virtual Speech and Yoodli.The CXWorks Cohort 24 Students participated in virtual interviews and received feedback from the two applications, on their interview skills, and will use what they learned to prepare for Mock Interviews with Barclays during their upcoming Friday Session.     Today, we attended the Las Vegas Junior Achievement Aspire Career Fair @UNLV to speak to students about future options at @Tech Impact. Along with Program Coordinator, Amy Starling, we engaged and interacted with students to describe the resources we offer with both our CXWorks and ITWorks Programs. This gave us an opportunity with to provide information and the introduce Tech Impact to our local students, our community and other organizations that attended the fair.

    I was fortunate enough to attend Tech Impact ‘s 2024 Annual Impact Luncheon on Thursday and in the sea of partners, donors and contributors to our amazing programs, the highlight for me was seeing one of my top students, Trinity Domeraski, receive the 2024 Distinguished Alumni Award.As a teacher for 30 years, you feel an overwhelming pride when your students are recognized for their outstanding achievements. You are forever connected with your experiences with them because you both had the opportunity to work together to produce those favorable and meaningful outcomes. The memorable moments, as well as the fun times that you shared while learning, help continue to drive my passion for educating others.I know that Trinity was honored that day, but I have more students who also worked their hardest to be the best students and CXWorks Alumni that they can be. I hope that Trinity’s achievement also honored them and provided more visibility to the CXWorks Program. So Congratulations to Trinity. Thank you for representing me, as well as every CXWorks student who has completed their training, and is moving on to even bigger and better roles in our community.     Hello Tech Impact CXWorks Alumni,Just wanting to check in with you all and let you know that we are now recruiting for our upcoming Cohort 24 class. It will take place from May 20, 2024 to July 12, 2024 @ the Historic Westside Campus.If you have any friends or family that you believe can successfully complete the two month program, please have them fill out the application at @cxworks.org. The CXWorks program is still completely free and now includes three certifications: the American Standard Typing Certification, the NorthStar Digital Literacy Certification, and of course, the Call Center Associate Certified (CCAC) Certification.
