Children 18 years old and younger can receive free meals this summer through the Summer Food Program with Wake County and the USDA. Sites are available throughout Wake County and no registration or sign up is required! Visit wake.gov/summerfood to find a site near you.
Renew your volunteer application for 2024-25 starting July 1
Families who were approved to volunteer during the 2023-24 school year will receive an email on June 1 outlining the quick and easy volunteer renewal process for the 2024-25 school year. The renewal window will be July 1-Oct. 1. Visit Volunteering in WCPSS to learn more about volunteer renewal or apply to be a first-time volunteer.
Free STEAM Learning Event at the Raleigh Convention Center on June 17-18
The National Academy of Inventors and Smithsonian Institution’s Lemelson Center have partnered to create a free, hands-on STEAM learning opportunity at the Raleigh Convention Center from June 17-18. Students attending the “Change Your Game” exhibition will learn about the role of inventors in sports history, and get a chance to create some inventions of their own. Register to attend one of the 90-minute lessons on Monday, June 17 or Tuesday, June 18.
Register to attend our Virtual Job Fair on June 20
We will host a Virtual Job Fair from 4 to 6 p.m. on June 20 to recruit candidates for support staff and related services positions. Principals and hiring managers from schools and departments will be available to meet with candidates, review resumes, and potentially conduct interviews. Learn more and register in advance.
Safe Gun Storage: Be SMART for Kids
Be SMART for Kids is a nationwide campaign that emphasizes the importance of safe gun storage. Resources on their website provide information on secure storage best practice, types of storage devices and helpful FAQs to address common concerns about safe storage.

La Academia Nacional de Inventores y el Centro Lemelson del Instituto Smithsonian se han asociado para crear una oportunidad de aprendizaje STEAM práctica y gratuita en el Centro de Convenciones de Raleigh los días 17 y 18 de junio. El 20 de junio llevaremos a cabo una feria virtual de empleo de 4 a 6 PM para reclutar candidatos para puestos de personal de apoyo y servicios afines. Los directores y gerentes de contratación de las escuelas y departamentos de servicios centrales estarán disponibles para reunirse con los candidatos, revisar currículums y posiblemente realizar entrevistas.
